Position Overview

We are offering an internship opportunity for aspiring Private Investigators to gain hands-on experience in the investigative field. This internship is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in private investigation, law enforcement, criminal justice, or security. Under the direct supervision of licensed investigators, interns will learn the fundamentals of investigative work while contributing to real cases and building practical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed investigators with surveillance operations and case documentation
  • Conduct research using public records, databases, and online resources
  • Perform background checks and compile investigative reports
  • Help organize and maintain case files and evidence documentation
  • Assist with photography and video documentation during investigations
  • Conduct skip tracing and locate subjects using investigative tools
  • Shadow senior investigators during client interviews and fieldwork
  • Learn proper chain of custody procedures and evidence handling
  • Assist with report writing and case summaries
  • Support administrative tasks related to case management
  • Observe court proceedings and depositions when applicable
  • Learn to use investigative equipment and surveillance technology

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Criminal Justice, Criminology, Legal Studies, or related program (or equivalent work experience)
  • Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background check
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexible schedule with availability for some evenings and weekends
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in pursuing Texas Private Investigator licensing
  • Coursework in criminal justice, investigations, or legal studies
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or research
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish/English)
  • Familiarity with social media research and open-source intelligence
  • Photography or videography skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
